We’ve never had questions regarding angels - that’s not our thing, but it saddens us that you are so arrogant and cruel towards those who do ask about angels and guardian angels. I find the discussion of St. Michael as the Angelic Prince of Israel really interesting. It fits nicely with the idea that St. Michael is the steward of Heaven, God's possessions are his (Israel, Heaven, the Church), but He trusts Michael to preside over them and see his Will carried out.

Im a little confused on what a guardian angle does. If they take my prayers to God, does that mean prayer is not direct conversation with God? If they guide me to make good decisions, then what is the role of a conscience? If they fight spiritual battles, then why do I still need to battle temptations? Perhaps they work in the spiritual realm enact the decisions I make?

Could you maybe edit out the beginning? I'd like to share this but don't want anyone to feel like their questions are annoying or stupid. I'm sure it is tedious giving the same answer over, but while it may be the 100th time you answer a question, it's the first time for the person asking and just trying to learn.

So sorry to hear that Jimmy Akin is tired of his listeners. Lot of attitude toward the people supplying his paycheck. The attitude has crept in over the past few years in Catholic Answers Live, answers getting blunt and short, snotty responses at time. Maybe time to retire Jimmy?

I can very much understand being frustrated with questions, especially repetitive ones. I find it hard myself to remain cool when my family members pose the same exact questions about Catholicism over and over again. Thankfully, our Lord has granted me more patience over the years, but I still need a lot more.

I have been spending an hour with Our Lord before the Tabernacle every Thursday meditating upon Gethsemani for a few years now. What I was inspired to understand is that Jesus wasn't weeping for Himself but for the sins humanity. It has nothing to do with His human personality as Jesus was fully human and fully divine. I don't think Jesus was afraid to die. He has no aversion to His death he fully and freely accepted it. But He knew the consequences of those who wouldn't. Imagine being saved but throwing it all away! After His Passion the world and the meaning of our life changed forever. What I am inspired to understand is that Jesus knew that even with all His sacrifices there would still be many of God's children will not accept Him and still others who do will neglect and wound His Sacred Heart. The Man of Sorrows wept in the garden of peace not for Himself but for you. That's love.

The mention of naked man running away is perhaps to show that witnesses to what happened in Gethsemani didn't wear any weapons with them. If you think about it, the nakedness represents vulnerability and non threatening behavior. Peter does pull out a sword so it's kind of the opposite scene to that one.

This isn't a court of law: The whole thing about burden of proof is nonsense. The winner is simply the one making the stronger case for their claim, one for the proposition and the other for its opposite.

curious how the gospel of John simply doesn't even mention that incident in Gesthemane happening at all. Indeed, the entire gospel of john presents a completely different jesus, one that isnt' bothered at all about being murdered.
